Brady is a sub 3 hour Marathon runner who had recently completed his second IRONMAN in November 2018 with a finish time of 10 hours 6 minutes. This past April Brady, 2019, his fastest Boston Marathon and Personal Best of 2:51:34.
I grew up playing soccer. It wasn't until after college and the year 2012 that I had decided to run my very first 5K. My dad, a runner and triathlete himself, asked me if I wanted to run a little 5K which was in the town which I had resided in at the time. Who knew that after running a 5K it would become the beginning of my continued growing love for what has now become Endurance Sports.
A few months after the 5K, it was onto the Half-Marathon, some 4 months later. From there I was humbled that first 13.1 hurt and I said "how does one ever run a marathon", I did a second half-marathon and it felt a little better. After being egged on my a couple of friends who talked me into running the Philadelphia Marathon as my first marathon, I signed up and wanted to vomit , I was so nervous, how could I possibly take on 26.2 miles?! Well, I worked with a coach and my friends helped coach me along too and the race was executed to plan. I ran 3:00:53 that year, following the advice of my coach and going out slow and continuing to build throughout the race and making sure I was nailing my nutrition plan.
After finishing that, in November 2012, my father talked me into getting into the sport of Triathlon. Of course, I fell in love with the 3 sports and wanted to continue to evolve to where I am today! Having now completed 10 stand alone marathons, 6 Half-Ironman's, and 2 IRONMANs, we've come to the point at where I am at today.
Along the way, I learned a great deal from coaches whom have helped prepare me for events, friends, and fellow athletes. I took all the knowledge I've learned and helped others apply it to their goals. After reading countless running (The Lore of Running if you're every looking for a running bible this one is it!), triathlon, swimming, cycling, nutrition, you name it, I just wanted to educate myself with as much information as I could. Finally, I went out and was trained through IROMAN to have a Coaching Certification and am already onto the next Triathlon related certifications. With USA-Triathlon coming up this Summer! I am one who just loves learning and learning, and passing on the passion to the sport to other athletes looking to learn or improve upon past performances.
Throughout the few years I have been coaching, it has been so rewarding to watch several athletes set the goals and then go out and crush them, some achievements being; to qualify for and run the Boston Marathon, complete their first sprint, olympic, 70.3 and 140.6 triathlons, coached a handful of athletes to their first ever IRONMAN (one whom had never done a triathlon before!), and coached many other athletes chase down their PRs to set new ones.
I enjoy working with time crunched athletes which is what turned me onto TriDot and the ability to maximize an athletes potential in less time and yielding better results.
As a new father, Coach, and Personal Trainer, I know about the delicate balance between work and play. Train hard, but smart and be selective about your "A" races. Every race is important, but pick one goal and stay the course, you'll get better results with one goal at a time! I like to have my athletes select a few "B" and "C" races throughout the buildup to their A races as it makes training more fun and gives you short term goals at the same time which you're working towards your long-term goal.
Having worked with athletes from beginners to Age Groupers finishing first on the Podium, I've become well rounded at helping motivate and be strategic with athletes to help them achieve their best racing potential.
I enjoy to look at the athlete as a whole person, gathering information on the athletes profession and what they do for a living, family life, outside obligations, other hobbies, nutrition, and help map out training and racing with all of this in mind.
I look forward to working with you as one of my athletes!
